You might think the story for Christmas use of artificial grass ends there ... but you would be wrong. Amongst the usual plethera of new gadgets recently launched onto the market as Christmas gifts, there is a really novel one that uses artificial grass - the Alien Abduction Lamp. You might just be wondering how on earth artificial grass could be combined with a lamp and aliens - that was our first reaction too! But it's true .... as the picture shows it is a decorative lamp (apparently not ideal as a reading lamp) containing a 'beam' made from moulded acrylic. It uses low energy LED lights and comes with an 'abductee' which is usually a cow, though you can of course use one of your own characters or models. And of course, the cow has to be on grass so a small circular piece of artificial grass offers the ideal setting. Well you couldn't use real grass could you?!

This is one of the most novel ways in which we have seen artificial grass used as an 'accessory' but we are sure it won't be the last!

Nativity Grass

Regular readers of our blog will already know about our white artificial grass which is popular for Santa’s Grottos – see our special feature this time last year.

White artificial grass has a wide range of applications, especially at Christmas – from shop window dressing to theatrical and stage use as well as in schools and nurseries. Using some of our snow grass at home in your conservatory is another option; a great way to enhance a display of Christmas cards or perhaps things your children have made specially for Christmas.

This photo was taken last week in the pedestrian area of Carlisle city centre where thousands of shoppers will pass through over the coming weeks on their way to do their Christmas shopping. Amongst the tall, green Christmas trees and array of coloured lighting, one thing stands out as special – a Christmas nativity scene which dazzles with white lights, all standing on a base covered with artificial grass.

However, it is not white artificial grass but green. Why? Well, we’re not entirely sure but it could be one of two things …

the builders did not know at the time that white artificial grass is even available

because a display of white figures with white lighting on white grass would not offer sufficient contrast, hence green artificial grass offered the perfect compliment.

Either way, it’s another endorsement of how artificial grass has a myriad of uses in situations where natural grass just would not work.

Artificial Grass For Stage, TV & Film - No Screen Test Required

Full Of Glee - Artificial Grass Success

We're approaching the time when people are inclined to look back at the year and reflect on events. Where Artificial Grass Ltd is concerned, we are delighted to say that 2007 has been a great year. Our thanks go to all our customers, distributors, stockists and installers as well as the AGL team and our UK factory.

March saw the company's launch into the residential market for artificial grass sales and the summer months saw a veritable queue of new distributors asking to sign up to the AGL network; in July our artificial grass products received favourable UK national tabloid press coverage and in and September the company made its first major Trade Show appearance at the Glee Trade Show. Staged at one of the UK's largest event facilities, the NEC in Birmingham, the Artificial Grass Ltd exhibition stand received many visitors over the 3 days.

The variety of visitors and the range of applications for which they were interested in using artificial grass surprised even ourselves - and that's saying something!

Screened in early October, the programme had many viewers resulting in a rush of enquiries about the artificial grass lawn which was featured.

Bringing 2007 to a close is our new artificial grass product Snow Grass - its launch could not have been better timed for Santa's Grottos and Christmas shop displays.
